Ben Habib, once of Reform, did a podcast the other day which has crossed my radar

Where he alleged all sorts of - basically - bribery, directly linked to Harborne, the £5m, past donations.

Including payments of £1m to each of Farage and Johnson at the 2019 election shortly before they struck a de facto electoral pact.

Breaches of electoral law by Harborne, around other donations to Reform, which he made through third parties to conceal his identity, to try to make it look like Reform had many backers not basically one.

Further previously undisclosed payments of £1m to both Farage and Johnson in 2022 for...what?

Then the latest £5m, paid to him shortly after he had declared no interest in standing at the last election. Which it is alleged was paid in order to persuade him to take over as leader of Reform again and to stand in Clacton.

Obviously no idea if any of the above is true, and worth adding that Habib is now a big Rupert Lowe supporter, so I dont exactly regard him as a lovely and fully trustworthy man. Also obviously if Habib has made that stuff up, then he should be on the receiving end of a whole variety of court cases from a bunch of people.

One wonders quite how far and deep this investigation might go, and what it might unearth, and whether any of the above is true.
