He already has his arm around him to hold him back as the clip starts and that contact continues for a few yards. Doesn’t matter if it did or didn’t cause him to fall over. The only reason the defender does it is to prevent him getting to the ball and the only reason it was probably inconsequential is because the ball in wasn’t good enough. But we’ll never know whatever he’d have got there or not. The whinging about the decision from our fans has been frankly embarrassing but that seems to be the way these days.
