Think Kenny dropped in there to let Gibbs get forward as Liam doesn’t have the pace to chase back on a break. I suppose in a sense it worked defensively as they weren’t able to lump it into the vacant space as easily as some teams have. But as you say it left a light midfield.
We also ponced about with it at the back far more than we have for a long time.
