Something I don't really understand

I think Ben made this point earlier, but anyway: could they not take a couple of youngsters as "staff" for the WC finals - not registered as players so not going to get on the pitch but take part in all training sessions, half-time kickarounds etc and sit in the dugout for the games? Gives them the exposure Walcott got without f**king up the rest of the team.
