The refs in this competition

I see a lot of people stating that these have been the worst refs ever. Is that really true, do we think? Cos i don't think they've been that bad.

i remember one comp when the refs were completely ridiculous - may've been one of Johansson's tournaments ad he'd told the refs exactly what they had to do. It spoiled the whole thing. In THAT tourney, Port v Hol woould've been abandoned before half time. Can't recall exactly which it was: may've been the one with the good Bulgaria, or poss the one before that.

This has been my tenth World Cup: I don't think it's been that bad. As for the diving, it's always been there. The only real difference is the tendency to actually clutch the face while rolling on the floor - that'll be because of the Elbows Thing. Playres didn't actually have elbows before about 1998, y'know.

Oh - and the fact that the Germans actually seem to have STOPPED diving, to an extent.
