I guess the summer issue was that an MLS club didn't come in for him

Given everything was seemingly agreed with Wolfsburg but he didn't want to go, it seems to stack up with what has followed now. I.e. he wasn't to go back to North America, he sees January window as the time to do that as it's pre-season in the MLS.

However, if he's still here in a year, I guess his market value would be down to the kind of number Toronto are rumoured to be offering.

I'm probably naive, but I can't help but think if he's willing to go to a club as s**te as Toronto, whatever it is in his personal life that's driving the desire to get back over there must be very important to him.
