Well the counter argument to that is...
if we deny him the move and keep him against his will what message does that send to players we're trying to attract to the club?
Sadly the simple business truth is that he's now a depreciating asset. If we turn down £16m-£17m now and he sits in the reserves for the rest of the season nobody will ever offer that much for him again. His value will keep going down. Everyone's a loser.
