That thought Manning was 90-100% of the problem.
I don't think I'm claiming in hindsight that it was obvious, the warning signs were there after the Millwall game that Manning was the wrong man. Mostly people were saying give it 10 games, that's really all he ought to have got.

The point about the signings, I think we'll see in time how they turn out. Probably a mixed bag. Without a manager that gave them any structure, a proper formation, roles they were comfortable with, they were all going to look awful. I criticised Manning for that from the start, others did too. I'm just glad he's gone. PC looks like a great find, and the improvement in performances suggests that the squad is much better than our position.
