"Head's not right"

Just wondering. In general, awareness, acceptance and understanding of mental health issues has grown considerably over the last decade or so.

It's also true that not everybody who is lazy has mental health issues as an underlying cause, and vice versa, so I am not claiming that this is the case.

However, if we look at the pattern of what we seem to know about Jurasek the last few seasons:

- already noises about his attitude from the Czech fans when we bought him
- never more than 25 league appearances in a season
- the very odd period when he arrived where (understandably) he needed to work on fitness, but then was apparently not available for selection at least partly to do with "homesickness".
- what we've now witnessed more than once this season where he simply doesn't bother chasing a ball that seems potentially there for the stealing

then is it possible that there are more issues that Jurasek is going through than simply being a lazy bastard?

I mean - he is a professional footballer and has been for some time. He must have been around successful pros during his short career already and seen the difference in the effort levels and put 2 and 2 together. This is 2025, not the 1970s when you could get away with 10 pints the night before a game and turning up 2 hrs late for training with a hangover if you were sufficiently talented. He would have to be monumentally thick to not understand that.

I get that it is frustrating, but I just wonder whether there's a little more to it.
