His answers are thoughtful and direct. What a pleasant change.

We all took the piss out of Manning for his management speak bollocks in press conferences, but in the end being s**t at press conferences was actually revealing of what was going on. When someone asks you a direct question at a conference, and you just spout a load of bollocks about owning it and stepping up and holding each other to account....well, there are two reasons why you're doing it. i) you've actually got a really excellent answer to the question which you share with the players daily, but you just dont really do press conferences for you deflect or ii) you actually dont know the answer to the question, and you're just deflecting till it goes away by spewing mumbo jumbo until you can go and hide in your office again.

Increasingly obvious that Manning really didnt know what to say or do, so he just said its one of those, as he didnt understand what was going wrong or what to do about it other than hoping for the best. Clement is night and day different....this is going to sound super dumb/obvious but....he listens to the question....he thinks about it carefully....he gives a really excellent answer. Because he seems to knows what the f**k he's doing. What the question is about. What is important about it. What he actually thinks the answer is. What he needs to share with fans to be consistent in messaging with the players. What he can't share to avoid tipping off the oppo.

That is what a real manager who knows his job inside out, and has total clarity of where he is and where he wants to get to, looks and sounds like.

I'm pumped. Let the healing begin.

Oh, and two more things. i) Seeing Clement in just a few days reveals even more clearly that Manning should have gone f**king ages ago. To coin a phrase, that's on Knapper. It's all well and good giving people time, but f**k me man, when things are THAT s**t, act. ii) the fact that it took Clement about 5 mins to see how tragically unfit the players were should be a source of enduring shame for EVERYONE at the club. How can the entire first team squad be THAT unfit without anyone of the countless coaches and executives doing ANYTHING about it. Fuck me.
