The cyclical nature of business, life and football. LONG...haterz don't read.

Was watching a YouTube video recently of various walks around Norwich city center and various other areas to see how things have changed in the past 20-30 years
It's incredibly how virtually none of the businesses are in place that were around forever when I was a kid right up to when I left for the US in the late 90s
All gone. Replaced by other businesses that seem to come and go at a more rapid pace.

Maybe that is a reminder of the cyclical nature of football.
It can be good for a while or even a long time but eventually it isn't.

The self sustaining model relies on the fact you can keep a constant production line of talent coming in and out.
If you hit one or two bad cycles it's pretty devastating.
I know I have been pretty vocal for a long time that we overpaid for both Crnac and Jurasek. (And probably Cordoba and Forson) I think most people are now on board with that. Still think we made some decent signings more recently for much less money.

So why are we so s**t at the moment?

IMHO it's not one thing, (it never is) it's a perfect storm of the following factors in no particular order.

(1) Injuries, have been a factor. You want your best squad available.
Questions have to be asked on why we get so many injuries?
It may just be variance (bad luck)

(2) Poor coaching. Has to factor into it. While we have had injuries, the on field stats have been incredibly poor. No way to spin it and that has deservedly translated to our league position. We deserve to be where we are.
I read an interesting recent comment where often a coach loses the dressing room, in this case it's the reverse where the dressing room has lost the coach. Looks to be time for a change.

(3) Player form. Even players who have traditionally done well and are proven in the champs are playing like dog s**t at the moment.
I don't know how to explain it.
The quality seems to be there.

(4) Recruitment. I think part of the recruitment has worked such as Goalkeeping and even defense but our creative and attacking options have either not worked, been out of form or injured.

My opinion is that we do have the squad to get out of this mess if we can keep them mostly healthy.
(I could be totally wrong about that, time will tell)
I don't think we are as bad as we currently look.

In professional sports betting there is a saying....no team is as good or bad as people think they are.

Saying that the majority of teams in our position go down.
The numbers don't lie.
Our one saving grace is we probably only need to get more points than two other teams.

If Roeder could get us out of this with a poor squad and no money, I see no reason why we couldn't do it with one of the best strikers in the league.
