The historic precedents are interesting

Managerial changes when Norwich were in - or near - the relegation zone

Nov 1973, Saunders replaced by Bond = Relegated
Oct 1981, Bond replaced by Brown = Relegated
Nov 1987, Brown replaced by Stringer = SAFE
* Apr 1995, Deehan replaced by Megson = Relegated
Dec 2000, Hamilton replaced by Worthy = SAFE
Oct 2006, Worthy replaced by Grant = SAFE
Oct 2007, Grant replaced by Roeder = SAFE
Jan 2009, Roeder replaced by Gunn = Relegated
* Apr 2014, Hughton replaced by Adams = Relegated
Nov 2021, Farke replaced by Smith = Relegated

So swapping managers in the autumn/winter gives you a 50/50 shot at safety (although reaching safety was, in 50% of those cases, only a short-term benefit that necessitated a further)

Note also Nov 2019, with no change = Relegated

I genuinely cannot think of a season where we have been this far behind in Oct/Nov, not changed Manager, and gone on to survive.
