I agree, despite my frustration last night

We could have won 3-1 and it wouldn’t have been unfair. Whatever they’re doing, though, it isn’t succeeding. Darling should have scored, Makama should have, Crnac was brilliantly saved, Sargent had a good chance, Marcondes’ free kick… By contrast, WBA had one chance, caused by our mistakes, or the chaos of the first one (Fisher going with wrong foot), and they win the game. I think that’s the best we’ve been all season. And again, that shows how bad we have been, not how bad we were tonight.

Any neutral would call that a smash and grab by WBA, but we know that we don’t seem able to score and I didn’t think we would at any point.

Bringing one Crnac or Jurasek through every season is possible but not a whole team of them. When we had some kind of stability with Wagner but then we burned all that down. Objectively, that had been our most successful period since promotion.
