Question is whether the players are this poor

My read is that Knapper has left us massively short in the wide areas and without a real number 10, or proper defensive midfielder. Add in an injury crisis and the team suddenly looks really imbalanced.

Manning's job is to figure it out in the circumstances and use what he has. I criticised his back 3 before the Millwall game and have had doubts about his setup and selection since.
The Wrexham game was a s**t show where we did nothing to stop them exploiting Cordoba at LB.
Stoke away we played Gibbs as a 10, brought on Schlupp at LW, took off Makama who was our one effective attacker at HT.
The way we played last night, Kenny dropping in to a back 3, the glacial build up play, all of it says that the manager isn't getting the best out of what we have.

The quality compared to previous seasons is apparent, we don't have a Sara, Nunez, Rowe, Sainz to do something from nothing. I don't think we should be as bad as we are - we could move the ball quicker, play to percentages, have a game plan that makes a chance for Sarge, maybe even have a plan B with the subs.

If we stick with Manning he needs to find a way to get a tune out of this team quick otherwise we're certs for relegation.
