Moneyball is fine in principle
Don’t see how it can be the owners fault. If knapper isn’t getting the data he needs to make good signings, or he isn’t getting the cash he needs, he should take that up with them.
In the end though, it’s his decision to sign a player based on data plus traditional scouting methods. He must believe in the methods he’s applying to identify the best players. And with those methods, he’s bought a bunch of players that either aren’t ready or aren’t good enough
