Top match yesterday, everything left out on the field

And a genuinely nail biting / touching finale.

(apols to Watford and Creo for bringing it up again - but will be cheering you on today).

I was struck, going into the final few overs (once we'd lost Brookes and looked like we'd let it slip at the final stretch) how I was still proud of the team, and was still invested.

Cricket seems to be suffering from there just being too much of it (and too much sport in general) - it's hard to care when there's barely any break in the yearlong schedule and the cycle of players in and out of clubs give little time for any kind of bond to be made.

Utterly tragic the stuff with Baker that forged this team - but all the more touching for the win (even in a relegation season).

I also love how we give players a chance who fell through the gaps at the bigger clubs - seems to be a genuine appreciation for the opportunity.

Anyway - gooooooo Hampshire! (today)
