I worked at ECN when the EDP (broadsheet then) was second only to the Liverpool Echo in

terms of circulation for a local daily, the Evening News used to have 2, sometimes 3 editions a day and there were about 15 regional papers like the Dereham & Fakenham Times, Great Yarmouth Mercury and Watton and Swaffham Times etc.

I got sent up to ‘the office’ for roller skating down a corridor with about 100 elastic bands wrapped around my face.
