I wonder why cricket commentators are generally so much better than for any other sport

Is cricket intrinsically easier to commentate on? Does it just attract more articulate people? Or is it better at choosing the right people for some reason?

Football is the worst, obviously. But there are some very terrible commentators working in other sports too. Cricket seems to get it much more right generally.
