Valley Parade..
Is, was probably will always be an interesting ground to me. Not because of any City matches I've attended there but purely due to the stadium design. I remember in the early 90's going there with the large terraced Kop stand behind the goal being full of claret and Amber supporters. The roof of the Kop and the roof of the stand to the left of the away supporters were both lit with large white down lights that gave the stand(s) a regality. The stadium felt important.
The very low/small side stand to the right of us kind of looked of a different stadium entirely. Then a few years later that stand(with the road behind) was rebuilt as well as the Kop losing it's roof in the process of it's redevelopment.
The new stands seemed to come together as a whole concept in time for their Premier League days but with a strange obtuse look about it. It's kind of odd and cool at the same time. I remember a fairly decent atmosphere there and the chubby 'City Gent' mascot who must be the only uncostumed mascot in the country?
I think recently the seats have been replaced with new ones as they've faded over the seasons. Carrow Road probably could do with the same refresh in places?
