Clearly highly thought of at Arsenal - a club with a very high player development reputation. You don't just give the Under 18 job to mugs.

Did Farke have much by way of relevant experience? A non league club, then BVB reserves in the fourth division.

The 'due diligence' from Knapper's point of view probably began while they were both at Arsenal. This is not sudden, nor out of the blue.
