Dependant on the culture they foster though
Our CEO is s**te and that permeates out into the Exec (who won't stand up to him) and down through them to us in the SMT.
There are sensible things we do and keep well away from his involvement, and the day-to-day would continue the same regardless of CEO.
But the culture (and therefore whether we bumble on and grow a bit, or actually thrive and achieve full potential) is absolutely down to the CEO and that can matter.
Swapping between good CEOs probably doesn't make much difference to an organisation. Chuck in a bad one, though, and it's a different matter.
