So the richest contract in sporting history has just been signed
...by a baseball player. Juan Soto, $765m, 15-year deal (with the New York Mets).
I don't really understand why the money for baseball players is *so* huge. Isn't the sport meant to be in decline? presumably this means the viewership numbers must still be massive?
Anyone who understand the economics of baseball, feel free to explain it to me.
