Don't quite get your argument...

We were all surprised at a player who had never played Premiership football being chosen to go to the World Cup, because we thought the step would be too great and he hadn't yet proven himself at a high enough level.

A referee who is reffing in Northern African domestic leagues is not used to the speed of the game, the clever little "professional" fouls (especially from teams like Italy), the pressure of running a game with a massive crowd and massive names, etc.

Should use refs only who have Champions' League and Copa whatsitcalled experience in my opinion.
