But yes always some interesting paradoxes. Many who shout “refugees are welcome here” every weekend would no doubt be horrified at the views of many of those same refugees about homosexuality. And yet anyone who questions levels of immigration is immediately “right wing” and ironically labelled a bigot. There are quite a few out campaigning for Palestine on a regular basis who would find themselves stoned or chucked off a building if Hamas were in charge here. In saying that I’m not defending Israel, just pointing out the irony.
