Factoring in positioning of defenders, pressure, how the ball arrived, what it was hit with, etc.

Thousands and thousands of them from other games.

The differing view on xG comes down to the quality of the underlying database of previous shots and the variables included in that database.

The more data, the more reliable the output. Not all xG databases are equal.
