From what I remember, Portugal couldn't handle Vassel at all

and parts of the criticism of the swiss referee was how the portuguese player got away with tackle after tackle on Vassell in extra time

I appreciate that Vassell is probably a good player to laugh at or blame in the current climate, but I actually don't remember a bad game in an england shirt by Vassell

He's another to add to the "not that good for his club but exceptional for his country" band
