I can only hope this is a sign he has seen the light and we don;t revert to Barnes behind Sargent again but on wednesday he stuck to one striker throughout and in the second half our midfield finally got going as an attacking force.

he still made a stupid triple substitution that demonstrated zero ability to tear up the script and actually respond to what was happening on the pitch but generally speaking the second half was encouraging.

I was then a little dismayed, however, to read his post match comments on Sara which seemed to suggest absolutely zero appreciation of why Sara has not been effective playing the role he's been asked to play and with us playing the style we've been playing. He seemed to take the question as implying that Sara had not been performing whereas i think it was asking whether Wagner has realised he's been playing him in the wrong position.

Key moment when that teamsheet goes out tomorrow for me. if its Barnes behind Sargent again then he's learnt nothing.
