We’ve sold our third choice CB (albeit we deliberately made him third choice so we could sell him) for millions, have brought in a capable enough replacement for a lot, lot less. Once Hanley is fit (and I think that may be sooner than expected as he’s running already) Batth will probably be fourth choice.
So on that level it makes sense.
What is a little depressing is we clearly set this sale up all summer because we needed the cash, as much as the club might try to make out he wanted to leave or we got a late bid we couldn’t refuse.
