Charlton was good at CB in the prem

with Flem.

I remember loads of people on here moaning about the lack of height, but I honestly don't think that it cost us in those initial games.

Malky is not wildly taller than flem (check the stats, there's only an inch in it, if that).

Charlton was clearly bought as a stopgap for our year in the prem & was wheeled out when we had injuries this season to plug gaps.

My guess is that the manager was using this season to see whether he could bed in our new CB pair (Shackell + Doherty), but with Shackell's early season injuries that never panned out.
