I kind of agree but...
Farke/Webber wrecked the successful promotion team with the 4-3-3 Gilmour experiment (and some other dud recruitment tbf). Tbf we know that they actually missed their key targets that summer and ended up with a bit of a panic splurge and an experiment in system / players that failed.
Smith tried all sorts of things to find an effective team out of that unbalanced squad but couldn't. But then he wasn't given the real scope to build a team that he would want. A minor refresh including a gamble on DCM that failed. So yet again we went into a season without a coherent team and system. Smith f**ks around again until we get tired of the inconsistency and the Wagner comes in. Not surprisingly he can't get a real tune of of them either.
So the question is can he build a coherent team and will be be backed to do so?
