At half-time last night we had it all to play for.
We had anger from questionable referee’s decisions but knew that if we threw everything at it and won then we still had a chance of being in the playoffs.
Yet we came out and approached the game as if it was a lost cause and as if it didn’t really matter. I would rather have gone down 4-1 and known that we had given everything to try to win than play out a tepid 45 minutes as if it was of no consequence. That was reflected in the attitude and tactics and substitutions. We looked like we threw in the towel at half-time instead of being inspired to fight relentlessly even if eventually it might be in a lost cause.
Something seems really wrong in the whole culture of the club and I fear for the future. This might be one of the easiest seasons ever to make the playoffs yet we failed miserably. That does not bode well for what comes next.
