Well it does have a Zeiss lens, which is a good thing
An optical (as opposed to a digital) zoom is also a good thing for the same reason as in digital cameras.
But, I'd see if you can find a review by a couple of reputable camera/video reviewers (eg. User Posted Link And check out the quality yourself.
