Just back from the match. I never thought I'd say this but....

... I really enjoyed the drum! Kept the atmosphere bouncing throughout.

The less said about the match the better. Thankfully gifting all those first half chances was down the far end so couldn't see them very well!

The ref was weirdly unpredictable. Completely baffled in the first half by him stopping play with us in attacking possession just as a Wigan striker got back to his feet with a non-head injury miles away.... then restarting play by dropping it for their keeper to pick up! Their attacking free-kick (hit weakly straight at Angus) in the second half was also a complete dive, which he bizarrely gave despite letting loads of other stuff go.

Dimi's passing was also very unpredictable in the first half. I took a particular interest in it because we were on that side and he saw a lot of the ball. He'd often hammer a pass in not to feet and way too hard, then also f**k up simple balls when he just had to roll it down the line to Onel. A very frustrating footballer!

Onel was the only bright spark for us going forward. It's all well and good having your fullbacks high up the pitch like wingers but if they can't then routinely beat a man and put in a decent ball then it somewhat negates the tactic. Hoping Marquinhos can get a chance on the right soon and will deliver.

My first match for 16mths (!) so I still loved it. Great to leave the armchair behind. 💛💚
