I'm not entirely sure what the gap is that The Hundred fills

given that we invented T20 cricket and how incredibly popular it is around the world now.

Feels a little like it has benefitted from terrestrial coverage and a huge amount marketing spend - but does it offer anything new or different that T20 couldn't?

I know one argument is that matches are 40 balls (so 15%-ish) shorter and that's better for terrestrial coverage - but you could very easily add a clock to T20 which would bring match times down, rather than invent an entirely new format.

Living in Norfolk, I have no opportunity to attend these gajmes and I know that it is getting the numbers - but I just find the variety of formats a bit exhausting.

And the fact that the Ashes is being squeezed so there is no test crcket whatsoever in August - the school holidays! - is pretty grim imo.
