It is very strange and extremely sad

From what I've seen of the river the banks don't look too severe and it doesn't appear like it drops off into deep water suddenly. There look to be plenty of places to at least drag yourself to relative safety and shout for help.

I can't imagine the tide has a huge effect that far inland either, so a body would likely just to and fro with the tidal flow within a relatively limited range or get stuck somewhere within that area.

Cold water shock can be fairly devastating if you don't have the mental preparation for it and panic. Even if you do, you can't prepare for a heart attack.

It does sadly look like that or as PG says, head injury. But I'm still surprised they've not found her if that's the case.
