Last season was the most damaging single season I can temember
We started a premier league season with mcclean and gilmour as our midfield.
It’s a miracle we got as many points as we did.
We’re still saddled with very costly wingers we can’t play and we’ve bought south anerican midfielders who need to adapt and Hayden who looks finished.
Add to that the damage in morale to the squad and fans and the resulting lack of hunger and the whole club seems rotten.
I agree 4231 or 352 would suit players much better than current formation but there’s no getting away from 2 things we have no attacking pace and a powderpuff midfield. As a result our passing game has collapsed as there is never an out ball
We must sign a decent British midfielder in January or we really could do a Sunderland and drop right through
