No, fitness and intensity are not the same thing although
obviously can’t get fit without intensity in fitness work and can’t sustain intensity if not fit.
It’s quite possible to have a highly fit team but not play with intensity (eg the most boring versions of tiki taka), or to play with intensity and be knackered by half time (see several of the lower ranked teams in the World Cup).
