Saw him play live a few times

But never with the Feelgoods, sadly. Watching him play, and hearing the sound he made, I could never work out how he did it. Brilliant. Very good songwriter too. He described himself as the world's leading Mick Green tribute act - which was true, but he was an awful lot more. We made the mistake of seeing the current iteration of Dr. Feelgood a couple of days after his Addenbrookes gig at the Junction. They are, as he said, a "risible travesty".

I know we've had him for many years longer than we once feared, but even so...
