Near me is Tadcaster, and a rich man pretty much owns Tadcaster to a point where

he goes out of his way to not care or upset the locals.
When the bridge in Tadcaster collapsed a few years ago he wasn't bothered.

The pubs he owns in Taddy are cash only, no phones allowed on etc.

Joe Lycett bought a pub in Tadcaster which accepts card and has better choices for the people there, and uses a brewery that isn't John Smith's (It's Black Sheep)

I think he's more in touch with the general population and society than most other people in the public eye.

He just has his way of trying to exact a change with the clout he has
