to be fair though...

the ban wasn't just because of heysel but the cumulative effect of years of trouble from english fans (Man U, Spurs and especially the national team spring to mind). Heysel (prior to which Liverpool fans had an exemplery record) was just the straw that broke the camel's back. It was an English football problem - if it hadn't been them it would have someone else the next season...
