Totally agree.

Fundamentally, the product is good. When I tune in, it’s a great watch, and the games are absorbing.

There is also then a feeling of authenticity. Women’s football hasn’t yet embraced the “anything for an advantage” mentality that leads to every major game you watch in men’s football involving endemic borderline cheating throughout. “He felt contact, he’s fully entitled to go down Clive.”.

Similarly, there’s a refreshing feeling that it’s mainly about the sport, whereas in men’s football it’s almost always entirely about the money. There is no loyalty to anything. It’s all about big contracts and insta influencing. Young men earning more money than they’ll ever be able to spend preening their egos.

Presumably though, all this will inevitably change over time, but hopefully only very slowly leaving many years of happy viewing ahead.
