I agree it feels awkward in a restaurant

Everyone thinks you’re a sad weirdo

Sometimes I go to my club - the nice thing about a club is that you can either sit at the club table with other people who are on their own and chat, or you can sit on your own and read a book or do the crossword and not feel awkward at all, because this is normal club behaviour. But it’s a 20 minute walk away and I was too busy last night.
