im a bit of a presbitarian hoummite in that my go to houmous of choice is your "regular" houmous origin flavoured houmous, so didnt much care for the other two incarnations (red pepper & olive flavours) so they eventually ended up in the bin roughly a week after exceeding their best before life expectancy, just sat all deathrowlike in the fridge on the second shelf down. when i've been in proper houmous countries you can ask the houmousmonger to fill a little pot for you specifying the exact quantity required. they say the uk wastes the most food in europe, i think a lot of this is down to packaging, it is impossible to buy for example one single chicken breast in a supermarket, so the other one gets sentenced to 6 months freezer detention so it gets destroyed eventually by freezerburn and s**tcanned into le bin.
