Yesterday attempted to ride the pave in today’s stage of TDF
Thought I’d go for the ultimate and attempted the Trouee d’Arenberg. Did about 150m in which time nearly fell off twice and then gave up and cycled down the side rather than risk £600 on a new pair of wheels! I know the pro’s don’t pay for their own wheels but regardless my respect for them grows everytime I attempt a major climb or in this case the pave of Paris-Roubaix. They ride over these at around 25/28 mph but how, I have no idea.
