we're trying to join them in the same league (so contributing to whatever validation they get from owning a club in it)

And where do we draw the line? What about selling to a club that's flush with Saudi cash having flogged their star player? How many layers of laundering do we want before we decide the money is clean enough?

I get the sentiment but there's bugger all we can do about it other than behind the scenes politicking.
