Skimmed over it yesterday and missed that he was a footballer

On the basis of the argument underneath it I assumed it wasn't a football story.

On the ethics point it's a shrug from me.

I feel like it's possible to disagree with the ownership of Newcastle and still buy/sell/loan players to and from the club. Isnt the objection about the money laundering/financial doping and reputation laundering (which I'm not sure the loan of an unwanted player amounts to a hill of beans in the context of).

If the company you worked for was taken on by someone dubious, should that make you unemployable if you wanted to move, or work elsewhere?

Ideological purity would be a tough thing to put a boundary on too. We could refuse to play them, I guess?
