Relief that he didn’t end up at another English team!
Would’ve hated us to play against him. Still think with the right funding behind him he could become one of the world’s best managers. He brought so much to our club, not just brilliant coaching but a togetherness and he insisted on respect for the club from every player. Miss him but fully behind Smith even though I’m far from convinced. Incidentally I now have a dilemma. FC Köln are my other team and I’ve been many times to see them play including against BMG. The dilemma is that Effzeh’s rivals are not Leverkusen as geography might have you think, it’s BMG and yes they really do not like each other. It all stems back to Effzeh’s mascot which is a goat called Hennes (and then a number). One of the previous Hennes was mysteriously poisoned and Köln fans blame BMG fans and have never forgiven them! Ever since, all the Hennes’ have been housed in Köln zoo just in case anyone tries it again.
