Would he spend the sums bandied about on a newly acquired club when he doesn’t do so on his current teams?

If he invests, it will be measured and sensible like his current teams. Splurging on a new stand or spending 1/7th of his wealth is neither.

I don’t think you really want a fund investing - the required returns would cripple us.
