Will be interesting to see how much money he puts in.
He has a net worth of c$700m, maybe half of it tied up in existing teams.
He would obviously be gambling on exposure via the premier league and see global marketing/cross selling opportuniites from there. I would be surprised if he pumps in more than $100m of his money, would represent an enormous gamble.
I could see him taking out debt against the club to fund some of it. While there have been some nightmare debt implosions in football, it wouldn't be that daft to take out some fixed rate debt at say 5% while we have inflation at 9%.
So this doesn't come without risk. But, if it meant an extra £20m spent on the squad for next season could be decisive in another promotion.
All speculative obvs, but it's an interesting situation.
