Having thought about it. What an absolute f**k up.

Bailey’s essay just exposes so many terrible decisions. Kabak and Normann being the primary two, in a procession of s**t.

We could have had Andrich and Ajer instead, apparently for similar amounts of cash. And they would have actually been ours, so we would have actually had a valuable asset to sell if we still went down, rather than nothing. And both were apparently happy to come, whereas it looks like Kabak and Normann only came when there was literally no other club interested and it was us or nowhere. And Andrich and Ajer are both f**king units, about 10cm taller each than the two we got. And both have gone on to have better seasons than Kabak and Normann. And we would have had both of them in before pre season started, rather than arriving after the season had begun. They were exactly what we needed to fill two massive gaps, and we basically tried to get them on the cheap, got neither and then ended up s**tting our cash away.

And our attempts to sign an Emi replacement ended up consisting of two left wingers and a striker that doesn’t score goals, for a grand total of 30 f**king million. Sarge has looked throughout the entire season like a civilian who won a Footballer For A Year prize. Everyone can see it. It should have been plain to see he was a waste of money (even if it turns out he’s amazing in three seasons time, which lets be honest doesn’t look exactly likely), and apparently we turned him down earlier in the window. Wtaf??! And two left wingers when we needed a RM. Or a no 10? One of who was young and has contributed nothing and looks raw as hell? The other of whom has been “okay” and in a very few games “good”. 30m for those three.

And it seems this line of “we didn’t even try in Jan, so it was okay for Webber to be up a mountain” is bulls**t too. We did try, by placing an add on some website. Beyond tinpot. A club worth a place in the top league would have had targets specially identified to improve the squad. And would have been working on them, and known whether they were possible/likely/long shot. Sticking up a “we’ve got 30s a week to spend, anyone got anything?” Is f**king embarrassing. What are the scouting department doing? Why do they even exist if we had to resort to that? And WHY wasn’t Webber around to give the attempt to find someone to strengthen the squad some direction? It’s his job - an absolutely key part of his job at a key time and he was up a f**king mountain. You’ve got to be kidding me.

Absolutely f**king terrible. A job so bad, there should be a public apology.

And instead what we got was a “f**k you” interview in The Times, when we were literally on the brink of relegation having served up poached turd for an entire season.

So on reflection I am Fucking Livid. The arrogance of the man. He should resign for presiding over a year of such absolute garbage.

Let it be known that those attacking “the model”, those saying “we just can’t compete” and “wages”….we could compete. We could easily have competed - of course not with the big boys, but with the bottom 6. It was simply a catalogue of incompetence that stopped us, not “the model”.
